Exhibition “Ogres novada lauka pētījumi” at the Ogre History and Art Museum in Ogre, Latvia in November 2024.
About the exhibition: Since June 2024, I’ve been staying in Ogre, Latvia, conducting research and creating artworks about the Ogre district for the local museum. This exhibition is about the history and legends of the region and includes various archival photos, including previously unpublished images of Latvian partisans from the Ogre district (courtesy of the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia). I experimented with different collage techniques, making photographic objects and installations with plants, figures, archival photos, and my own photography. The result is a mix of the past and present, merging the legends and reality of this quiet corner of the country. I think it turned out interesting, so I’d say it’s worth visiting the exhibition:)
